Chattahoochee Valley Lady Pirates Open up the Season 2–0
The No. 13-ranked Chattahoochee Valley Women’s Basketball team opened the 2025–26 season with an impressive weekend in Jacksonville, Florida, securing two gritty wins over top NJCAA Division I competition. The Pirates set the tone early with a 56–53 victory over #12 Florida Southwestern State, showcasing their toughness and composure against one of the nation’s best. Sophomore forward Lacey Thomas powered the way with 20 points and 11 rebounds, while freshman guard London VanArsdale added 12 points.
The Pirates claimed their second victory over Eastern Florida State, a previous Top 25 program, 55–52. VanArsdale continued her streak, leading the team with 14 points and three 3-pointers. Freshman point guard Paris Shelton made a statement contributing 9 points, 5 assists, and 2 steals, while Sophomore guard Jada Landers made her return from injury giving the Pirates a lift off the bench with 9 key points.
A 2-0 start marks a promising beginning to the 2025-26 season. The Lady Pirates’ talent, toughness, and hunger to win proves why they are one of the best in the Nation and ready to build on last year’s success.
